THE VISION BEHIND SKALA
CHRIS FAYER
SKALA is founded and led by Chris Fayer on the belief that development requires more than expertise in any one discipline. It requires seeing the whole, financially, technically, socially, and within the changing context in which real estate exists, to create something that can adapt, support, protect, and create value in more than one way.

Chris designs and builds developments from the ground up, she has a uniquely diverse experience as a developer, licensed architect, general contractor, investor and acquisition manager. She brings a deep sense of responsibility to her work and looks beyond each project to the people, neighborhoods, and communities it will impact.
Chris also leads commercial development for Class A clients and continues to do so through Three Krown Advisory, spanning both private and institutional development. She also serves as Managing Director of PMA’s Seattle office, now part of Brailsford & Dunlavey, bringing her development perspective to complex projects and organizations across the region.

Seattle's multifamily housing is overwhelmingly rental-based, with only 3% of recently constructed multifamily housing offering ownership opportunities.
We believe more people should have the opportunity to own a piece of the city we call home, including younger professionals and students. Ownership can set a student up for a 4-year equity play as they study, as well as provide a foundation for business ownership by investing in a cash flowing asset. It also allows young professionals to have greater ties to a city, which can retain talent over time.
Taking the long view, while we are increasingly becoming more decentralized and transient, allowing ownership models at many scales can set our communities, city, and region up for more resilient affordable living opportunities.
